Your Love Story
…How did you meet?
We originally met back in year 8 through friends, we only saw each other during the holidays and came from opposing schools…our own version of Romeo and Juliet you could say 😂. We then lost contact for a couple of years until I (Chloe) then changed schools during sixth form and we were put into the same group for media, we grew closer but not close enough, we both left school and lost contact again.
3 years later, I joined the team at Wetherspoon, unknowing that Taylor was working there at the time. We quickly became friends again and after a short while we shared our first kiss on a work night out. Taylor proposed 3 years later after covid had ruined many of our plans. I of course said YES! Wedding planning began almost immediately as I already knew most of what I wanted and the rest as they say, is history!
The proposal
Expected or surprise!
Somewhat expected but also a surprise! At the start of the year, Taylor mentioned that he was planning on proposing. COVID had put plans to a halt though, we were supposed to get engaged in Amsterdam but lockdown hit only 1 week before we planned to go. Taylor then had to re-think plans. In the end, Taylor proposed on an October evening, I didn’t want to go anywhere that day despite my parents offering suggestions, I stropped about never getting engaged unbeknown to me that Taylor was trying to find the right moment in between my moaning! 😂 He eventually told me to shut up and got down on one knee, I was so shocked!!!
Choosing THE dress …
Like most of my wedding planning, I knew what I wanted! I went to the dress shop that I had planned to go to since before we got engaged, told them exactly what I wanted and fell in love with the first dress that I saw. With advice from my mum, sister and the lady at the dress shop, I tried on 4 other dresses. I left with the first dress I tried on, the dress of my dreams…with a few alterations on what I had planned.
Why did you choose Bredenbury Court Barns?
I fell in love with the venue from the second I found the website. Ironically enough, I wasn’t even looking for a venue for us when I came across Bredenbury. My brother and best friend had just got engaged, I was helping them to find a venue and just slipped this one into my back pocket! I never imagined that we could get married at such a beautiful location, I just wanted to look around and pretend for five minutes that I could. Once I actually got there, we had to get married there. And, we did.
Tell us all the details!
No readings at the ceremony, Taylor was nervous and we wanted the ceremony over and the party to begin! I walked down the aisle to You say by Lauren Daigle. It was more perfect than I could imagine. One thing we will always highly recommend is our cake topper! Artlocke Designs made our cake topper and we will treasure it forever!
We had glow sticks for the evening which was so much fun! And a Photo Booth, we didn’t realise we got a photo book at the end, it was so fun to look through after the wedding!
What was on the menu?
Oh, the food!!! It was absolutely amazing! We had beef brisket for starters, Chicken breast in pink champagne and peppercorn sauce with a heart-shaped fondant potato for main and white chocolate and Cointreau brioche pudding for dessert! It was all absolutely amazing! Followed by pizza in the evening which was just as amazing!
First Dance Song?
Not a usual one… Cal – Dressed up in White!
Your favourite moment of the day?
How could I pick one moment?! The whole day was perfect! If I had to pick one it would be sitting down just before the meal and speeches and looking out at everyone we loved sharing our day with us! Taylor also found it so difficult to decide but narrowed it down to the ceremony and first dance.
A word of advice for future couples?
Just take a breath and relax! The team at Bredenbury are amazing! They’ve got your back and they won’t let you fall!!
Also…just have fun, don’t get stuck trying to please everyone! It’s your day!
Can you sum up your day in just 3 words?
3 words?! Can I have 4? 😂 it was more than perfect? 😂
